About our Organization: 

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Gem & Mineral Society Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization. MGCGMS was founded in October 1974. The Society was created for pursuing interest in the lapidary arts and crafts for educational and scientific purposes, and to promote interest in gems, minerals, fossils, and jewelry making. We hold monthly workshops on cabbing, faceting, and identifying gemstones and fossils. We also teach a monthly Jewelry making project. The society has outreach programs for schools. We also host an annual gem and mineral show. 

Our club meets at the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center at 1600 Government Street, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Visitors are always Welcome. Unless otherwise stated above, workshops are held the 2nd Saturday of each month starting at 9:30am. Pot luck lunch is at 12:00pm. Business Meeting starts at 1:00.pm. The Workshop then continues until 4:30pm.
