Mississippi Songwriters Alliance
Mississippi Songwriters Alliance, formed in 2010, promotes songwriting and celebrates the many accomplishments of successful songwriters whose roots are in Mississippi. The Mississippi Songwriters Alliance recognizes these accomplished songwriters by inducting them into the Mississippi Songwriters Hall of Fame annually. The Mississippi Songwriters Alliance produces the annual Mississippi Songwriters Festival (beginning on the 3rd Thursday of September) which provides opportunities for writers to connect with music fans and share their writing experiences and inspirations. The Mississippi Songwriters Alliance produces a monthly show, Songs and Stories (3rd Thursday of each month), at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center showcasing local, regional, and national songwriters. We seek to educate people of all ages about the craft of songwriting through workshops, ambassador events, Mississippi Songwriters Alliance for Veterans, and school outreach. The Mississippi Songwriters Alliance seeks to honor the creative effort that goes into telling a story with the rhythm, rhyme, and melody that goes far beyond what words can say alone.
