Ocean Springs Environmental Alliance to Present Free Lecture

The Ocean Springs Environmental Alliance (OSEA) invites you to become better informed by attending  a lecture featuring John Lipscomb, a Master Naturalist and an active “birder” from an early age. The lecture entitled, “What the Bluebirds Told Me,” will be held at the Mary C Cultural Center in Ocean Springs on Tuesday, February 10 at 6 p.m. for wine & cheese, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. for the lecture and discussion.

John has been involved with outdoor activities and birding most of his life. His mother was a birder, so John learned by watching and listening to her. He has collected data on bluebirds for 18 years and shares info with the NestWatch program at Cornell University. He has been watching and feeding hummingbirds since he was a child. He wants you to know that he has no special credentials in this field nor no academic letters associated with his name. He is just like most of his fellow birders. He has a committed interest in the preservation of natural areas, providing information and helping others enjoy nature.

OSEA is “a group of citizens committed to the stewardship of our natural resources for the benefit of current and future generations.  Our goal is to work toward a sustainable community in harmony with our coastal environment.“ For more information, please visit the Ocean Springs Environmental Alliance Facebook page.
