Ocean Springs Environment Alliance Lecture

  • The Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Arts Center 1600 Government Street Ocean Springs, MS, 39564 United States (map)

NOTICE: The OSEA Lecture previously scheduled for October 8, 2026 has been rescheduled to November 12, 2026 due to weather concerns.

Did you know discarded bottles, jars, and other glass can be crushed and reused around your home or business? Glass never deteriorates in landfills, so recycling it helps reduce landfill waste.

Bring the glass you would normally throw away and watch it be crushed into a useful material you can take home and reuse.

Join the Ocean Springs Environmental Alliance for an evening of glass recycling and community fun:

  • 4:00 p.m. — Glass crushing on the lawn

  • 6:00 p.m. — Wine and cheese

  • 6:30 p.m. — Talk on the benefits and uses of recycled crushed glass

Shawn Harris will lead the crushing demonstration and the 6:30 discussion. We hope families and businesses will bring their glass, learn more about recycling, and enjoy the event!
